Who is La Sante Murte actually?
Despite official rejection by the Catholic Church and the government, the Mexican cult of Santa Muerte is enjoying increasing popularity.
This character is most often represented as a skeleton woman dressed in a large tunic whose hood is folded over her head and carrying a scythe.
In short, Mexico has a particular affection for this type of Santa Muerte pendant. Very often, its inhabitants use it as an object of worship.
In fact, this country has a long tradition of celebrating the dead.
For example, Mexicans celebrate the famous “Day of the Dead” (or Dia de Muertos) each year as an opportunity to collectively honor those who have passed away.
It is therefore not surprising that the cult of Santa Muerte emerged in this region of the world.
In the states of Veracruz and Hidalgo, most families have a Santa Muerte figurine or pendant in their homes.
