What is the place of the fleur-de-lys in French culture?

It's actually just huge.

Concretely, the fleur-de-lys is a stylized lucky symbol typical of France.

It has been used for centuries for the deep historical and religious messages it carries.

A popular legend tells us, for example, how an angel presented a golden lily to Clovis, the king of the Franks, at the time of his baptism. This must be seen as a sign of divine grace granted to France and its king.

Later in national history, the famous Joan of Arc herself marked her standard with the fleur-de-lys, a symbol of the blessing that God had bestowed on the French troops.

From a more religious point of view, the Catholic Church sees this lucky flower as a representation of the virtues of chastity and purity and, through them, of the Virgin Mary.

In short, the fleur-de-lis is sometimes found sewn into the coats of kings and knights, sometimes engraved in the walls of our cathedrals and sometimes still featured in jewelry and accessories (as is the case with this amulet).

By wearing it, you are part of a long French and Catholic tradition, a tradition in which our ancestors themselves were part of.
