Yes and so ? Who is this famous Barong?

This Barong divinity ring represents a great divinity of the Balinese people who appears during certain festivals and ceremonies.

This god is generally synonymous with health and good fortune, in opposition to the witch Rangda, his sworn enemy.

Usually described as a bright red creature, with a funny gait and which gallops good-naturedly, its insect eyes and fangs do not prevent it from sending back benevolent energy.

It's complicated to determine exactly what type of creature it is. A mix between a Chinese dog and a lion perhaps?

In any case, one thing is certain: the Barong divinity is difficult to describe to someone who has never seen it.

The Balinese believe that the Barong has the ability to discern everything that is truly good in the world from everything else. Thanks to this power, he would protect them from terrible disasters which would then surely strike them.

In Bali, each village has its own lucky charm representing the Barong. Whatever the form, the goal is always the same : the protection of the community.

If an illness strikes the village, the local priest will then perform certain rituals linked to this god to ask him to heal the population.

According to the inhabitants of the island, this type of ring of the Barong divinity would therefore undoubtedly be endowed with ancient powers difficult to explain, but easy to feel.
