In fact, where do the powers of this religious medal come from?
It is in reality the many symbols it contains which give it its abilities. This ring with the medal of Saint Benedict is in fact very rich in symbols to decipher.
The outer edge of the medal contains the letters "VRSNSMV - SMQLIVB". These are actually two powerful exorcisms.
The first gives in Latin “ Vade Retro Satana, Numquam Suade Mihi Vana ”, and translates as “Get away satan, never advise me of your vanities”.
The second is “ Sunt Mala Quae Libas, Ipse Venena Bibas ”, and in French gives something like “The drinks you offer are evil, drink your poisons yourself”.
In between is the word “ Pax ”, literally meaning “peace”. This is actually the motto of the Benedictine monks (religious people who live under the Rule of Saint Benedict).
Other messages are present on the ring meaning respectively “May the holy cross be my light” and “Let the dragon not be my guide”.
It’s clear: we are here faced with a very particular Christian lucky charm.
