Concretely, what is a phruba then?

The term "phurba" refers to a Tibetan dagger used during sacred rituals.

A mysterious object little known to the general public, the secrets of the ritual phurba are passed down from family to family over generations.

The knowledge hidden behind it is held in particular by the monks of the Nyingma and Chöd schools, two currents of Tibetan Buddhism.

While most daggers and knives in the world have two faces, the phruba has three...and that's no coincidence.

Its triangular blade is in fact supposed to represent the unity of the three bodies of the Buddha or, according to certain specialists, the three worlds of the Tibetan tradition (terrestrial, spiritual and underground).

When used in ritual, phruba is often used to represent stability and constancy.

Certain tantric schools (which are sometimes confronted with demons) use it to keep them in respect and thus keep them in their place.

Phruba is in fact recognized for its action against evil, of which it is capable of dissipating the most threatening forces.

Using it as a good luck charm is therefore entirely relevant. This is what thousands of Buddhist practitioners in Tibet do.

And you, do you also think you need it ?
