What traces do we have of the use of this type of Yggdrasil pendant in Viking art?

Unfortunately, most of them have disappeared.

Whether by time or by man, the majority of relics dating from the Viking era have been destroyed.

Simple coincidence or desire to erase the memory of a people?

We encourage you to form your own opinion on the matter...

In short, from what little we know, this Yggdrasil pendant is rather faithful to Viking art.

The knots we can see all around the pendant actually correspond to the branches and roots of Yggdrasil.

This Viking symbol therefore has a particular meaning.

The Yggdrasil (also called the world tree) represents the different universes present in ancient Norse mythology.

It is therefore a question here of expressing more particularly the idea that these worlds can intermingle, without however coming into direct contact.

Yggdrasil therefore represents the possibility of traveling (or at least communicating) between these universes.

This leads us to many thoughts... that we can try to apply to our lives!

It is in fact existence (just that!) which is represented by this Yggdrasil pendant.

The different areas of life intersect to, in the end, form a whole which is ideally intended to be balanced.

And you ? What does all this mean to you?
