What exactly is the cross of life?
The Cross of Life (sometimes also known as the Ankh or Egyptian Cross) is arguably the best-known Egyptian good luck charm.
In the ancient hieroglyphic writing system, this symbol was used to represent the concepts of eternal life and renewal. This perhaps partly explains the name we give it today...
Generally presented in association with gods protecting the pharaohs, the cross of life is found on an impressive number of funerary scenes. Urns, bas reliefs and other sarcophagi: she was everywhere.
