The Atlas lion, what is different from a “classic” lion?

Before their extinction at the beginning of the 20th century, the Atlas lion lived, as its name suggests, in the Atlas Mountains in North Africa, mainly in Morocco. Fierce, proud and solitary: this Atlas lion pendant is indeed surely ideal for representing the Moroccan spirit.
In reality, many of the legends surrounding this animal come to us from Roman times.
At the height of its glory, Rome liked to have its gladiators fight during the famous circus games. It often took several men, and a lot of bloodshed, to get rid of such an animal.
