What is the significance of a feather to American Indians?

In Native American culture, sages believe that everything has a glow of soul, a kind of wisdom inherent to its nature.

The feather, for example, is considered a powerful symbol linked to honor, strength and freedom.

The reason for this is actually quite simple: each feather has a part of what makes up the soul of the bird it will one day decorate. Thus, each of them is associated with the particular qualities of these beings who govern the clouds.

In some ways, when a feather falls to earth, it represents a gift containing all the energy of the bird. This is seen by Native Americans as a true gift from heaven and nature.

While finding a feather on the ground or seeing one fall from a tree may seem completely random to us, to the men and women who once populated America, this type of event never happened without reason.

Seeing a feather gently fall in front of you during a walk in the forest or a hunting trip in the plains is a sign not to be ignored.

Carrying a feather against your skin is therefore a great honor which is only reserved for a few. Often, the bravest warriors received this type of Native American lucky charm after saving the tribe.

Today, you too are invited to wear this strong symbol thanks to this necklace decorated with a feather of honor.

Out of respect for Native American culture, only do it if you feel worthy of it.
