What is actually so special about the Russian Orthodox cross?
This Christian lucky symbol often has three bars, and few people outside of Russia know the reason behind it...
However, the explanation is rather simple.
The upper bar of the Russian Orthodox cross simply represents the sign that Pilate had placed above the cross of Christ. It was written: “Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews”.
This was a way of making fun of Jesus, but this necklace with a Russian Orthodox cross changed things.
This sign became the symbol of the certain triumph of Christianity over the entire earth, the symbol that each nation would pass under the reign of Christ the King.
The middle bar of the Russian Orthodox cross corresponds to the part on which Christ's arms were located. This bar is also common to the more classic cross that can be found in the Catholic and Protestant Churches.
The lower bar is associated with the footrest which supported the body of Christ.
Its meaning, however, is more enigmatic. Not all specialists agree on the interpretation that should be given to it.

The bar is tilted, with the raised part: it is precisely on this side that the “good thief” was, the one who repented to the Lord at the last moment.
