The Eye of Saint Lucy, also known as the Eye of Venus or the Eye of the Virgin, is a fossilized shell from a mollusk in the gastropod family Turbinidae.
The eye of Saint Lucy is in the form of a slightly pearly white spiral delimited by a darker line.
According to legend, the hollow side of the shell is a symbol representing the Virgin Mary, while the "full" part represents the eye of Saint Lucy.
