What is a gorgonion? And this creature I see there?

A gorgoneion is a form of lucky amulet decorated with a Gorgon head.

Let's say it from the outset: this is one of the most famous Greek lucky charms of Antiquity.

With their appearance of a woman whose hair is made up of dozens of snakes, Gorgons are certainly frightening creatures.

Many legends surround this strange woman. The best known is undoubtedly that of the Medusa. Gorgons par excellence, this creature had the power to turn anyone who looked directly at it into stone.

Despite their very monstrous side, the Gorgons were always seen by the Greeks as capable of bringing us luck, and even protecting us.

Indeed, if we use a gorgoneion intelligently, we can benefit from its immense powers.

What happens if your enemies come face to face with it?

Just barely: they find themselves defenseless, and therefore without the ability to harm you.

Using the Gorgonion as an amulet is actually considered something so powerful that even the gods would be tempted...

Greek mythology describes lucky amulets similar to this one attached to the necks of Zeus or Athena.

And you, will you let yourself be tempted?
