Who is the saint we see on this medal?

Saint Thérèse of Lisieux was born in 1515 in Avila, Spain. She was one of the greatest nuns and mystics in the history of the Catholic Church.

She was also at the origin of the reform of the Spanish order of Carmelites and a more austere and contemplative vision of religion.

Saint Thérèse of Lisieux was also the first woman elevated to the rank of Doctor of the Church in 1970.

Shortly after the death of her mother, young Thérèse returned to the convent.

Her health rapidly declined, which pushed her to retreat into a long interior prayer.

Once back on her feet, however, she moved away from religion somewhat.

After 15 years of life shared between worldly spirit and divine spirit, she underwent a sort of "religious awakening".

Saint Thérèse of Lisieux then undertook to reform the Carmelite order in Spain.

She advised following a life of prayer and penance in order to “repair” for the sins of humanity.

Despite fragile health and great challenges on her path, Saint Thérèse of Lisieux established 17 convents throughout her life.

Today, his ascetic doctrine is commonly accepted as a basis for the contemplative life, and his spiritual writings are among the most widely read.

This medal of Saint Thérèse of Lisieux therefore offers you a message: that of a Saint who, with the help of God, changed the face of the Catholic religion.

This is therefore a Christian lucky charm of the first importance.
